Untitled Sci-Fi Battle

Untitled Sci-Fi Battle is a white-painted diorama I created as part of my portfolio expansion when preparing to apply to university. I wanted to push my skills further and demonstrate my ability to construct complex scenes with narrative depth, scale, and sculptural clarity.

The piece stages a futuristic battle in a miniature urban setting, using a mix of 3D printed architectural elements and plastic Gundam model kits. I chose to paint the entire scene in monochromatic white to unify the different components and let form, shadow, and composition tell the story—almost like a freeze-frame from a lost war documentary or a model from a conceptual design pitch.

Each Gundam was carefully posed to convey motion and confrontation, while the surrounding buildings were constructed to feel fragile and dense, creating contrast between structure and chaos.

With Untitled Sci-Fi Battle, I aimed to show my interest in worldbuilding, storytelling through models, and the transformation of toys and kits into cohesive visual narratives. It became a key part of my university portfolio, and a turning point in how I think about staging scenes and manipulating scale.
