"Traumatic Urinals" Coulrophobia

“Traumatic Urinals” — Coulrophobia
This piece is part of a sculptural series that reimagines the urinal as a vehicle for confronting personal and collective fears. Referencing Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain, the object is transformed into a therapeutic, almost ritualistic tool for catharsis.

This version explores coulrophobia, the fear of clowns. The interior of the urinal is invaded by a chaotic cluster of clown faces, each one distorted, mocking, and unsettling. A red balloon — a familiar horror symbol — floats above, intensifying the unease.

The viewer is invited to directly urinate on the faces of the clowns, turning the piece into an act of symbolic defiance and psychological relief. It blends absurd humor with visceral confrontation, offering a strange, darkly comic method of reclaiming control over one’s fears.
