Danny Balloons is a monochrome vector illustration created for screen printing, marking the symbolic birth of Danny, one of my most iconic and persistently reimagined characters. Rendered in stark black and white, Danny emerges as a chaotic clown child, a creature both silly and unsettling, whose presence defies time and logic.
Danny’s form is round, soft, and slightly off-kilter—he has stubby limbs, a rotund belly, a permanent grin, and void-like eyes that flicker between innocence and existential panic. His hair curls out in exaggerated tufts, and his costume is a mix of classic clown tropes and toy-like minimalism. While his look was loosely inspired by Danny DeVito, the character quickly took on a life of his own: a strange, ageless being trapped in a cycle of celebration and destruction.
