FLEXIBLE MATERIALS
Kafka Goon

Kafka Goon is a soft-bodied mutant lost in an urban environment it doesn’t understand. It’s part insect, part clown, part exhausted worker—an absurd character stuck between transformation and burnout. I imagined it lying around, slumped in chairs, draped over construction signs, trying to process a world full of warnings and restrictions.

I built Kafka Goon with bright yellow fleece, oversized eyes, and clumsy limbs wrapped in bandages, like it’s healing from some mysterious trauma. The checkerboard cape and red-eyed stare give it a comic-book energy, but its posture is all too human—passive, confused, waiting.

This piece is about feeling displaced, both physically and psychologically. Like Kafka’s characters, it lives in a bureaucratic absurdity it can’t escape. It’s silly and sad, harmless and strange, and maybe just a little too relatable.
