VECTOR Series
Flat Vector Illustration – Digital Print / Foundation Year

This trio of flat vector illustrations was created during my first year at university as part of a design exercise. At the time, I was still considering a path in visual communication, and this project became a playful but structured way to explore graphic storytelling through simplified shapes, symbols, and bold color.

Each piece uses a flat, high-contrast vector style to communicate abstract ideas visually:

The yellow panel represents pleasant smells—perfume, soap, fresh pie—flowing into a stylized nose, which reacts with delight.

The green panel mirrors this with unpleasant smells—trash, poop, sweaty feet, and spoiled fish—accompanied by a recoiling gesture and a pinched expression.

The final red piece maps areas of the brain associated with memory, smell, movement, and daily stimuli. Using a flat brain silhouette over a textured red background, the piece combines vector symbols with a hint of organic chaos underneath.

This series allowed me to experiment with flat graphic language and vector-based clarity. It taught me the power of minimalism and contrast in communication, but also made me realize that my true language lies in volume, texture, and physical presence—leading me to shift my focus entirely toward sculpture.
