First Nation Animal Stacking Blocks is a project I created in my first year of university, in response to a class prompt inviting us to design an interactive object for children from Canadian First Nations communities. I wanted to combine play, storytelling, and cultural respect through form and color.
The result was a series of stackable blocks—like a 3D puzzle or totem—that feature animal silhouettes significant to First Nations territories. Each piece was modeled in Cinema 4D, 3D printed, and then hand-painted with acrylics to give them a vibrant, tactile finish. I focused on creating a system where the pieces could be arranged vertically or in creative combinations, encouraging both motor skills and symbolic recognition.
