"Mojo Buns" Dad

«Mojo Buns» Dad is a plush character that feels like a mascot from an alternate dimension—equal parts dad joke, soft sculpture, and punk voodoo doll. I wanted to create a figure that looked vaguely familiar but also totally absurd. With its tall bunny-like ears, stiff posture, and embroidered face full of chaotic stitches, it’s hard to tell if it’s threatening, loving, or just extremely tired.

The front of the figure is detailed with exaggerated felt features, including layered eyes and a big, stitched red mouth. On the back, a bold number “2” is sewn over the bright yellow fabric, like a team uniform or a mysterious ranking. There’s also a red patch where a tail might be, just one more strange detail in a body full of quiet humor.

I think of Mojo Buns Dad as the proud, awkward father figure of a plush toy family gone rogue. He’s soft, weird, a little bit broken, and totally unapologetic about it. That’s the energy I love giving to these characters—one that’s flawed, endearing, and unexpectedly alive.
