WACKY ELEMENTS is my take on the classical idea of the four elements—fire, water, earth, and air—through the language of art toys and collectible characters. I wanted to explore how each element could be personified as a mischievous, emotional, and slightly grotesque little creature. These figures emerged from sculpting freely, focusing on exaggerated expressions and cartoon-like shapes that bring each element to life in its own weird, unique way.
WACKY ELEMENTS
I love how they feel somewhere between cute and creepy, familiar yet alien. From the first prototypes in clay to the final painted versions and boxed figures, this series is also about my fascination with toy packaging and the whole universe that surrounds collectible culture. Wacky Elements is both a sculptural experiment and a tribute to childhood, chaos, and the strange personalities hiding inside the forces of nature.
